THE WEEKEND

Three nights.

That’s it.

FRIDAY

Arrive. Check in. Do almost nothing.

Late lunch. Lagoon. Walk around Abu Tig. Dinner.

SATURDAY

This is your water day.

Boat early enough that the day actually feels long.

Swim. Eat. Stay outside.

Come back exhausted in the correct way.

Shower. Dinner.

SUNDAY

Breakfast somewhere you can sit too long.

One final swim.

No aggressive itinerary.

Drive home wondering why Cairo suddenly feels louder.

That’s the weekend.

The temptation with short trips is to maximise them.

Don’t.

The entire point was to leave your normal life for 72 hours.

THE CURATOR SAYS: Three nights. One boat. Zero spreadsheets.

Here are the actual places I'd pick: Ali Pasha for a walkable Abu Tig Marina base or The Chedi for a more resort-focused stay. Tandoor at Ali Pasha and Zia Amelia Downtown are two very different dinner moods. For a boat day I'd plan towards Bayoud with a captain, depending on wind and sea conditions. My favourite afternoon is the Sailing Club, where I'd order the burger at La Plancha. Villa Caracas in Fanadir is a lovely breakfast option. I wouldn't squeeze all of these into 48 hours; pick what fits your mood.
