LETTER FROM THE CURATOR
When this journal was just an idea, it had no archive.
Now it has a point of view.
I’ve gone from the Mediterranean to the Nile, from Siwa to Saudi, from Cairo restaurants to Alpine hotels.
And that range is intentional.
Because The Curator was never supposed to be another account telling you where to brunch.
I’m interested in places.
The hotel I’d cross a country for.
The destination everyone will be talking about next.
The designer interpreting Egyptian culture differently.
The opening actually worth knowing.
The restaurant I’d take an international friend to.
The trip I’d book ourselves.
Sometimes that will mean Egypt.
Often, actually.
But not always.
Because being born in Egypt doesn’t mean my curiosity ends at its borders.
The Curator is being built here with a perspective from here.
And then I’m taking that perspective everywhere.
No endless lists because Google wanted keywords.
No pretending every opening is exciting.
No “hidden gem” because somewhere has a pretty swimming pool.
Just good places, strong stories and an opinion.
Think of me as the friend who has already done the research.
The one you text:
Where should I go?
That’s who I’m building The Curator for.
See you somewhere worth knowing.
— The Curator
For a starting point, I'd choose between a Giza weekend around the pyramids and Grand Egyptian Museum, a few days along the Nile, or El Gouna for a boat day and the Sailing Club. My Journal is for the stories; my travel guides hold the practical details.
